For Nana and Pa and Daddy

Noah about to enjoy his first Starbucks experiance. It was his first time sitting in a highchair too :)

We miss you! Amie had a bit of a cry saying "I want my daddy" tonight when I was trying to get her to go up to bed, she then decided that she wanted nana and pa :( Which is a real shame, since they are half way home to their house by now. Nevertheless, she eventually went up to bed, and was really good since she knew she that I had to feed Noah and put him down too.

Noah and Amie enjoying a train ride to Hamburg

Noah has two facial expressions, this is one of them.. and the one we like best. The other usually involves loads of tears and crying.

Strandfest :)

"Rrrrrrrrrroar!"

Nana and Pa have come over to look after us while Rich is away in China with work. We have had a really super day today, at a Children's Party at the beach area in Wedel... there were pony rides, face painting, bouncy castles..all totally FREE. Amie went on each of them a LOT and had a really fab time. Here are some photos from today and this weekend.

This isn't a very exciting photo, but it does give you an idea of what our house looks like. It's not actually our house in the background, it's our nextdoor neighbours... but ours is the exact same.

Noah and Pa enjoying themselves at the party today.

Bouncy, bouncy, bouncy, bouncy, fun, fun, fun, fun, fun...

...the most wonderful thing about Tigger, is he's the only one! Noah is making friends with Amie's Tigger, I will have to get his one from the attic which is a lovely gift from his friend Jack (thanks Em :) I certainly think he's old enough to play with it now.

Another pony ride... Amie was very eager to go on the bigger white horse, but we told he she'll have to wait till she's a little bit older... though she was on this little pony at least 10 times today and really enjoyed herself.

Most postcards from Wedel are of this place! :)
Here's a link to a live webcam of the beach, exciting stuff... maybe you might see Amie, Noah and I there :)

There were at least 99 of these red ballons floating in the Summer sky today... we lost about 5 between Noah and Amie, though he's very proud to be keeping hold of this one.

More photos!

Amie in the bath tonight

Noah seems to have his eye on the bigger bath!

In the background you can see a wedding party going out to the welcome point. It's a harbour near our house, that welcomes ships that sail into Hamburg by playing their National antheme..good fun.

"Look Mammy, a nail"... this is all I hear all day. Amie is obsessed with snails, and seems to have overcome her inital fear of them. Today she had one crawling all over her hand while I was cooking dinner (but I didn't throw him in the pot)

Jessie likes to sit on Amie's seat on the bike when it's not in use...typical of Jessie who's only happy when she's being a bit naughty.

Noah making friends with our neighbour Lily. We were invited to her birthday party on Wednesday.. it was good fun (and I've only just noticed how well his shirt matches the chairs!)

Houston, we have lift off...

I'm going to have my work cut out for me from now on as Noah has started crawling. Well he more sort of throws his head about and follows where it lands, but it won't be long till he's flying around the floor... he was chasing a waterbottle around today and managed to drag himself about a fair bit, so I will need eyes in the back of my head from now on!

Let's go to the zoo....

Today we went to a beautiful zoo, around 30 mins drive away. The tickets were a very thoughtful gift from Zoe, Vera and Marten.. our friends from Haarlem. It was a really lovely day out for us all, Noah even enjoyed looking at the monkeys from the baby bjorn carrier... we got to feed the elephants and Amie got to ride on a pony. This is something she's been talking about for months, wanting to go on a horse, and it was a proud moment for mammy too.. as I used to enjoy horseriding in my youth, all those years ago. http://www.hagenbeck-tierpark.de/start.html

Amie really likes driving, just like her daddy

Welkommen to Wedel

Noah enjoying the view today in the Elbe shopping centre... very happy we bought this Phil and Ted's buggy before we left Haarlem, it's been really great for pushing up the hills here!

A very nice old man gave Amie this ice cream as she was walking down the main street... I thought it was my duty to help her out with it.. very nice it was too. She's been given bags of sweets by most of the neighbours too, will have to take her to the dentist soon!

We're finally online...took a little time, but to be honest we wouldn't have had time to update the site even if we'd had an internet connection.. it's been pretty busy around here (I think Rich goes to work for a rest, though he'd never admit it). But we're all settled in now, even the cats. They were SO happy to see us the night Rich collected them from the airport, they were even very well behaved the first few days... but they're back to their old selves now, happy now that they know we're not going to leave them behind :)

This is us the day we arrived at our new house, waiting for the key and the removal van :).. check out the new car Rich got from his company as a bonus for moving here (no not really.... we just hired it to get us here! :)

The boys outside no. 1c Mozartstrasse

I think Amie's going to be very happy here, the ice-creams are huge!!!

This is for Samantha... Amie's wearing the lovely Winnie the Pooh top you got for her

Doing our bit for global warming... we now have a car. Rich managed to get this one with a 1 year guarantee, so if it doesn't fall apart within the year we will be very happy. It's come in really handy and has loads of space, as you can see.

Yes, Wedel even has a beach, the Strandbad. This is really the estuary of the Elbe, and about 15 mins walk from our house. Last Sunday the weather was lovely so we spent the afternoon at the beach, Amie loved it.. Noah slept through most of it.

This pink elephant is outside our local shop. Amie likes to have a go on it, but is also a bit scared as it gives her an 'ow tummy'. This is good for us because then she only wants to sit on it, and not have it moving... pretty cheap entertainment.

Amie and daddy making their first bbq.. very tasty the sausages were too.

Jessie and Amie enjoying their garden. We have picnics outside for lunch when the weather is nice enough. Amie's nextdoor neighbour Lily sometimes joins us, she'll be 3 on Wednesday and Amie is going to her party (that's Amie's 2nd birthday party since we moved here, the little social butterfly that she is).

"Did somebody say picnic?". Neo doing his Yogi bear impression.

We're going to need a bigger pool.
